Edison Benvolio
Edison Benvolio is a fifteen‑storied apartment building positioned on a lakeside plot within Bashundhara Residential Area, Dhaka. Its elegant vertical form and distinctive red hue set it apart from the surrounding residential fabric. The choice of red concrete draws from Dhaka’s architectural lineage — from the historic Lalbagh Fort and Curzon Hall to modern icons such as the MP Hostel of the National Parliament complex by Louis I. Kahn.
The building follows a simple, efficient plan that accommodates all the functions of a contemporary apartment block. A user‑friendly, landscaped entry leads to a double‑height lobby that welcomes residents with a warm, generous ambiance. Community facilities — including a children’s play area, multipurpose halls, prayer space, and shared amenities — are distributed across the first two floors and the top level.
Each typical floor contains four units, all benefiting from abundant natural light and ventilation. The open-plan configuration offers residents a flexible and adaptable living environment. The accessible rooftop provides panoramic views and additional communal spaces.
Edison Benvolio asserts itself as a modern yet understated residential building — simple in its planning, bold in its material expression, and unmistakably distinctive within its neighborhood.
